Program Manager- Prevent, Protect, Prevail Project: A Multigenerational Approach to Disrupting Sexual Assault in Eagle County

Position Summary: Under the direction of Bright Future Foundation’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Program Manager will support the mission of the organization with the goal of creating exemplary sexual assault survivor services, program excellence, and sustainability for the Prevent, Protect, Prevail project. The Prevent, Protect, Prevail project is a multigenerational approach to disrupting sexual assault in Eagle County including community and youth education and prevention as well as crisis services, advocacy and case coordination, and behavioral health for survivors. The Program Manager will serve as the lead for Prevent, Protect, Prevail project implementation, data management, program evaluation and grant reporting. Additionally, the Program Manager will attend regular staff meetings, assist with volunteer management, and coordinate the activities of the 24/7 crisis line and advocate response for Sexual Assault Nurse Exams and Forensic Nurse Exams. The Program Manager will work with the advocacy team including serving on the 24/7 crisis line and provide on-call advocate response on a rotating basis. Job description is subject to additional responsibilities as assigned. Position is a full-time (36-hour per week) exempt position.

Program Manager Responsibilities

  • Coordinates administrative activities for Prevent, Protect, Prevail project
  • Supports advocacy team by providing crisis intervention, advocacy, and case management to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and human trafficking
  • Advocates a holistic view of healing for victims, focusing on psychological, economic, legal, physical/medical, and educational ramifications of abuse
  • Provides education and resources regarding the Victim Rights Act, victim compensation and victim resources
  • Ensures the crisis line and Sexual Assault Nurse Exam (SANE)/Forensic Nurse Exam (FNE) advocate response calendar is fully staffed with volunteer and staff advocates who are able to commit to coverage during their assigned shift
  • Assists in recruitment and training of volunteers and new volunteers for the crisis line and SANE/FNE advocate response team
  • Reviews each crisis line and SANE/FNE call with the responding advocate, providing additional resources and support as necessary
  • Works with COO to promote, market and manage SANE/FNE services at Victim First Care
  • Assists the Clinical Supervisor with coordination of quarterly consultation group for project partners
  • Coordinates activities and events for Sacred Cycle
  • Works with Youth Violence Prevention team to provide evidenced-based, in-school curriculum and outreach for the prevention of domestic violence and sexual assault.
  • Works with the COO to ensure high quality data management in Café database
  • Completes program evaluation and compiles data in partnership with the COO
  • Manages all data management for grant reports and completes all monthly and quarterly grant reports
  • Researches and compiles needs-assessment data and statistics for program improvement
  • Provides training to new staff on the Café database as required by the project
  • Manages electronic and paper records
  • Actively promotes Bright Future Foundation’s mission/vision by participating in awareness-building opportunities (trainings, forums, panel discussions, etc.)

Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years’ experience and demonstrated competence in case management or advocacy on behalf of vulnerable populations or evidence of comparable experience
  • Demonstrated competence with program management, including but not limited to: training, public speaking, facilitation, collaboration, detailed program planning and timely implementation
  • Strong, proven ability to: mediate differences of philosophy and opinion; maintain calm, efficient, and good-humored approach to work while managing competing priorities in a fast paced, highly productive work environment; work independently and as a team member; think critically and with foresight; carry out assignments with limited direction; adapt to change; and be nimble and flexible
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • A minimum of one-year experience working in client database systems.
  • Ability to comfortably drive or commute to neighborhoods throughout the community and occasionally out of area travel. Must have own vehicle with insurance. (Mileage reimbursement available)

  • Ability to prepare reports
  • Ability to respond effectively in crisis situations with a judgment free attitude.
  • Familiarity with community resources and ability to make appropriate referrals

Victim First Care Sexual Assault Nurse/ Forensic Nurse Examiner

Position Summary:

Under the direction of Bright Future Foundation’s Sexual Assault Nurse/Forensic Nurse (SANE/FNE) Coordinator, SANE/FNE program nurses will work with the Victim First Care team to provide trauma-informed, professional medical care to victims of sexual assault and interpersonal violence who access services at the Victim First Care clinic. SANE/ FNE nurses will perform forensic examinations of individuals who have been sexually assaulted or otherwise impacted by violence and provide related patient care and referrals.

Victim First Care Sexual Assault Nurse/Forensic Nurse Responsibilities

PRN Shifts- minimum of 24 hours of on-call per month is required for this position.

  • Perform forensic examinations of individuals who have been sexually assaulted or otherwise impacted by violence
  • Provide related patient care and referrals
  • Document each victim’s medical history and account of the assault from the patient
  • Assess the patient’s psychological condition
  • Performs physical examination
  • Collects and preserves all evidence, collects relevant specimens, and documents findings
  • Provides direct nursing care of injuries and prophylactic medications
  • Refers to appropriate personnel/facility for further treatment as necessary.
  • Communicates with victims and their families regarding evidence collection, treatment
  • recommendations and reporting to law enforcement (except in cases of mandated reporting) in a manner that promotes informed decisions.
  • Provides victim advocacy and/or expert testimony in court trials.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program
  • 1+ years of registered nurse experience in an acute care/hospital setting preferred
  • Live within a 60 minute drive of the Victim First Care located in Avon, CO
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action
  • Must have credentials in Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course
  • Must be able to complete Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner training within 3 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Sexual Assault Nurse/Forensic Nurse Examiner
  • 3 years of RN experience in an acute care/hospital setting

Rate of Pay: $15.00/hour for on-call and $75.00/hr for in-person response.

*Stipend available for completing SANE/FNE training requirements
