The prize for the most laps on the Forest Flyer mountain coaster went to either Rowdy or Nate, but who was counting? This year’s annual Epic Discovery day at Adventure Ridge was a gray Wednesday in August, but the clouds and rain didn’t stop the nearly fifty participants—mostly Senior Buddies and Junior Buddies and their families—from lapping the Forest Flyer mountain coaster, navigating the ropes course, and jumping on the bungee trampoline.
The highlight of the summer for many buddies is the Buddy Mentors day at Adventure Ridge, made possible thanks to the Bright Future Foundation’s partnership with Vail Resorts EpicPromise, a grant that focuses on youth programs and environmental initiatives that impact our community. In Buddy Mentors’ case, the grant not only allows buddies a chance to explore Adventure Ridge, it also provides a day of buddy bonding, trust building, and getting out of comfort zones.
