Purple Purse Challenge to end financial abuse

Support Bright Future Foundation in the 2017 Purple Purse Challenge!  Campaign starts on October 2.

Domestic violence affects one in four women in her lifetime – that’s more women than breast cancer, ovarian cancer and lung cancer combined. Most people think only of physical abuse when they consider domestic violence, yet financial abuse happens in 99% of all domestic violence cases.

The number one reason domestic violence survivors stay or return to an abusive relationship is that they don’t have the financial resources to break free.

Financial abuse is an Invisible Weapon that traps victims in abusive relationships.

During the month of October, also known as Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM), Bright Future will raise funds and awareness to stop abuse in all its forms.

Purple Purse kicks off on Tuesday, October 2 and runs through Tuesday, October 31. Bright Future will receive all proceeds it raises through the campaign, and there are weekly bonus challenges to win additional funds.

The Allstate Foundation is generously covering the transaction fees on donations made to organizations during the Challenge fundraiser.
​The only other fee incurred is the payment processing fee of 2.9% of the donation + $0.30 per transaction. However, every Challenge participant has the option to click the “Donor Cover the Fees” button on their donation checkout page so that their donors have the opportunity to cover these payment processing fees.
