When Bright Future Foundation was in need of a new office space in 2014, Jim Flaum spearheaded the search committee. Flaum’s real estate acumen aided in finding a convenient location for clients, and also a space with the ability to accommodate the growing staff. As a result, Bright Future has a stellar work environment and a welcoming environment for its clients.
Flaum recently retired from the Bright Future Board of Directors, and also announced his retirement as president and managing broker of Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate in Vail. During his six years of involvement with the board, Flaum acted as a liaison with the Slifer Smith and Frampton Foundation, a crucial supporter of the work of Bright Future. He also served as chair of the Nominating Committee and as a member of the Finance Committee.
“Whatever Jim Flaum does it is from the heart and with tremendous commitment” said Bright Future Board President Lissa Tyler. “Bright Future Foundation was truly lucky to have Jim’s devotion to the mission of our organization, Making Futures Bright. His involvement as a board member and mentor has been invaluable to all of us who have had the good fortune of his leadership.”
In addition to being a respected name in real estate, Flaum is also a retired U.S. Navy officer and pilot. He and his wife, Cookie, enjoy taking jaunts in their private plane, with Cookie serving as co-pilot.
“Jim’s hard work, wisdom and generosity will be missed by board and staff alike,” said Bright Future Executive Director Sheri Mintz. “However, I’m certain his retirement will be welcomed by Cookie as she and Jim embark on a plethora of aviation jaunts.”
